Monitoring is not reacting

A wealth system that is only examined when markets are loud will always be late. Monitoring is a cadence: what is watched, why, and what would actually trigger a decision.

A principal and a family member in conversation over papers in a private sea-facing library.

Reacting is a reflex. Monitoring is a design. The difference is a pre-agreed set of signals — allocation drift, liquidity, concentration, unfunded commitments, tax events, family events — and a human who is accountable for interpreting them.

Machines are good at noticing. They are not accountable for acting. That boundary is part of the architecture.

Not investment advice. Illustrative structures are not performance.
